Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us, answered plainly.

Including the ones that are awkward for us. If your question is not here, ask it — we answer every one, and the good ones end up on this page.

The basics

Do you book the appointment for me?

No, and be wary of anyone who says they do. We send you a notification the moment a slot is reported at a consulate you care about. You book it yourself on the official usvisascheduling.com site with your own account. We never ask for your visa-scheduling login, and we could not book on your behalf even if you wanted us to.

Why do you ask how many people are on my application?

Some reports state how many seats a slot has. When one does, we check that number against your party size and hold back slots that are too small — there is no point waking you for an appointment that cannot take everyone.

Around a third of sightings never state a seat count. Those still reach you, labelled “seats visible: not stated in the report”, because not knowing is not the same as knowing it is too small. We would rather show you the gap than fill it in.

Can I report slots too, and what do I get for it?

Yes, and it takes one message. Send a screenshot of the calendar and we read the consulate, the date and the seats straight off it — no forms. It reaches everyone it matches within seconds, and you do not need a paid plan to do it.

Paid subscribers earn 1 free day per report (up to 7 a month); everyone else earns 2 extra alerts (up to 10). The photo is what earns it — without one the report still goes out, it just does not pay. How reporting works.

How fast are the alerts?

We deliver within seconds of seeing a report. The honest constraint is upstream of us: a real applicant has to notice the slot and post it, which typically takes under a minute but is not instantaneous. We stamp every alert with how long ago the slot was seen so you can judge for yourself whether it is worth racing for.

There are free Telegram groups. Why would I pay?

You are not paying for information — that is free and always will be. You are paying not to watch a firehose. A busy slot group produces hundreds of messages a day, almost all of them irrelevant to your consulate, your visa type or your party size, and the one message that matters arrives at 3am among forty that do not.

We read all of it and send you only the part that is yours.

What happens if no slots open at all?

Then you get almost no alerts, and we tell you so rather than going quiet. The free alerts exist partly for this reason: they are counted, not timed, so a quiet month does not silently use them up. And if you receive no alert at all during a paid subscription, you choose: we extend it by the same number of days free, or refund it in full. Extension is only the default.

Which visa types and consulates do you cover?

We are live for H-1B and H-4 in-person interviews at all five US consulates in India — New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. F-1, B1/B2 and L-1 are next, and joining the list tells us which to prioritise.

How it works

Where does your data come from?

From applicants. Thousands of people check the official scheduling site every day and report what they find to public communities — usually as a screenshot when something is open, and as a short text note when nothing is. We read that stream continuously and turn it into structured records.

We do not poll the booking system, and we hold nobody's scheduling credentials.

Why not just poll the official site — wouldn't that be faster?

It would be, by perhaps a minute. It would also be automated interaction with a system whose terms forbid it, which is why services built that way spend their lives fighting anti-bot measures and can disappear overnight.

There is a second, less obvious reason. A poller sees one account's view of the calendar. A crowd is thousands of people checking from different accounts at different moments, so between them they notice openings no single watcher would. Breadth partly compensates for the speed we give up.

How do you read a screenshot?

Positive sightings almost always arrive as images, so an alert service that only reads text misses the events that matter. We run vision extraction over every image: consulate, visa type, date, time and, where the calendar shows it, the number of seats. Anything the image does not show is recorded as unread rather than guessed, and the alert repeats that to you.

Can I report a slot I have found myself?

Yes, and it is the fastest report there is — no waiting for somebody else to post it. Send us a screenshot of the calendar; we read the consulate, the date and the number of seats straight off the picture. It goes out to everyone it matches within seconds.

Usually that is the entire conversation. We ask a question only when the picture cannot answer one — most often the visa type, because the booking site makes you choose that before it shows you a calendar, so a screenshot of one never displays it. If you are registered for a single visa type we do not even ask that.

You do not need to be on a paid plan. Anyone with alerts switched on can report.

What do I get for reporting a slot?

If you are on a paid plan and inside it: 1 free day added to your subscription, up to 7 days a month. Everyone else — free, trial, or a plan that has run out — earns 2 extra alerts, up to 10 a month.

The split is not favouritism. Extra days are worth nothing to someone who is not on a paid plan — the delivery rules would still treat them as free — so paying them in days would be thanking them with a number that changes nothing.

We do not tell you how many subscribers it reached, and that is on purpose rather than an oversight: anyone can sign up free, so a reply naming a number would hand a competitor our subscriber count for that consulate and visa type, one report at a time.

Why does the reward need a photo?

Because the photo is the report. There is nothing to type, so there is nothing to claim without evidence — a screenshot is the only thing you can send, and producing a convincing false one is real work. That is what stands in for the paid-only rule we used to have.

It also has to show something. A picture of an empty calendar is read as no availability and is not sent to anybody, because it is not a slot.

What stops people farming the reward?

Four things, and they run in order of what they cost us. There is a daily limit per person. The same screenshot sent twice is recognised and refused. A slot somebody already reported earns nothing, because it is corroboration rather than news. Only what survives all three is checked against the photo.

The monthly caps are the backstop: whatever happens, one person cannot earn more than 7 days or 10 alerts in a month.

What can you not see?

Anything nobody reported. If a slot opens at 4am and no applicant happens to be looking, we do not know about it. We also cannot tell you a slot is still there — by the time you read an alert, someone may already have taken it. That is why every alert carries the time it was seen rather than implying it is still open.

Using it

How do I set my filters?

In the WhatsApp conversation itself. We ask which consulates, which visa types, your date window and how many people are on your application, using buttons and lists rather than making you type. It takes about a minute, and you can change any of it later by messaging us.

How many alerts will I get?

However many match you — we do not ration them. In the current backlog that can mean a handful in a week rather than a stream, because there genuinely is not much opening. There is a high daily ceiling as a runaway-cost safety limit, set well above anything normal usage reaches.

Can I pause alerts overnight?

Yes. Message us and we will set quiet hours. Bear in mind that consulate cancellations do not respect them, and overnight releases are often the least contested ones.

What if I get my appointment?

Tell us and we will stop. That is the intended ending — this is a service you are supposed to stop needing. If time is left on a paid plan when you get your appointment, message us about it.

Do you work outside India?

The consulates we watch are the five in India. You can be anywhere — plenty of our subscribers are in the US watching Indian consulates for a stamping trip — and pricing follows where you are billed.

Coverage

Can I get alerts for more than one consulate?

Yes, and you should. Applicants who watch three or four consulates get an appointment materially sooner than those watching one, because releases are not synchronised between them. There is no extra charge for adding more.

Do you cover dropbox (interview waiver) appointments?

Our live coverage is in-person interview slots, which is where the demand moved when interview-waiver eligibility narrowed. Dropbox coverage is on the roadmap; tell us on the form if that is what you need and it moves up the queue.

What about F-1, B1/B2 and L-1?

Planned, not live. We would rather cover two visa types properly than five badly — a service that claims coverage it does not have is the single most common complaint in this category, and we are not going to be another example of it.

Do you cover consulates outside India?

Not today. Third-country processing was sharply restricted for Indian nationals, which removed most of the reason anyone was watching consulates elsewhere.

Pricing and refunds

Is there really a free tier?

Yes, and it is not a crippled demo of a different product. Your first 5 alerts are the same alerts a paying subscriber gets, filtered the same way — your consulates, your visa types, your dates — just 30 minutes later. You will see the service work, and you will see precisely what the delay costs you.

We count alerts rather than days because a free week during a drought contains nothing, and you would learn nothing from it. 5 alerts is 5 real chances to judge us, whenever the market provides them. After that we stop sending slots, but we will still summarise the month for you if anything appeared at your consulates.

Why is the 3-month plan the one you recommend?

Because it matches what actually happens. You need slot alerts until you have an appointment, and in the current backlog that search rarely finishes in four weeks. Buying three months costs less per month than buying one three times, and it means you are not making the decision again in the middle of your search.

What happens if you send me nothing?

You choose: we extend your subscription by the same number of days free, or refund it in full. Extension is the default because most people still hunting a slot would rather have more time — but if you want the money back, one message gets it. No form, no proof required; we check our own delivery log.

The free tier exists so you can see the real alert volume before paying anything at all. It is counted in alerts rather than days on purpose: a trial measured in days expires unused in a quiet week, which tells you nothing. Five alerts is five real slots whenever they arrive.

Neither we nor anyone else can guarantee you an appointment.

Can I cancel?

Reply STOP on WhatsApp and the messages end immediately — no retention call, no form, no waiting for business hours.

Plans are sold as blocks rather than by the day, so cancelling stops future charges but does not refund days already paid for. If you have your appointment and time is left, that is the outcome the product exists to produce.

Do you charge in rupees or dollars?

Both. Indian customers are billed in INR, US customers in USD. Use the switch above the table to see whichever applies to you.

What about taxes?

Indian prices already include 18% GST. ₹1,799 means ₹1,799 leaves your account — there is no tax added at checkout and no surprise on the invoice. You will get a proper GST invoice for it, which matters if you are claiming the expense.

US prices are exclusive of any local taxes, which in practice means most US customers pay exactly the listed price.

Trust

Reddit says services like this fake their availability. Why should I believe you?

You should not, on our say-so. That is why every alert carries the time the slot was seen and the number of independent reports behind it — the two things a fabricated alert cannot honestly supply.

There is also a structural answer. A subscription that produced no alerts is extended free or refunded, whichever you prefer — so a quiet week costs us rather than you. A service inventing availability to look busy would have no reason to offer that at all.

Are you affiliated with the US government, CGI Federal or VFS?

No. We are an independent notification service with no connection to the Department of State, any consulate, CGI Federal, VFS Global or usvisascheduling.com. Anyone in this category implying otherwise is telling you something untrue, and it is worth checking that on every site you look at.

Do you scrape or automate the official booking site?

No. Our data comes from what applicants publicly report. Beyond the legal question, automated polling is fragile: it breaks whenever anti-bot measures change, and it only ever sees what one account can see.

What do you do with my phone number?

We send you the alerts you asked for. It is not sold, shared, or used to market anything else, and we do not message anyone who has not messaged us first — a rule that is both WhatsApp policy and the reason our number stays usable. Full detail in the privacy policy, and you can have everything deleted by emailing support@visaslotsplus.com.

What happens if your service breaks?

The system watches its own sources and raises an alarm if one stops delivering, because a broken feed and a quiet market look identical from outside. If we are down for a meaningful part of your subscription we extend it by the outage — that is our failure, not the market's. We would rather bear that than have you sitting on a dead alert feed believing the calendar is empty.

Account and payment

How do I start?

WhatsApp delivery goes live once our Business number clears Meta's review. Join the waitlist and we will message you the moment it does — the list is also how founding-member pricing gets allocated.

How do I stop?

Reply STOP on WhatsApp. It ends immediately. No confirmation call, no form, no waiting for office hours.

Do you have an app?

No, deliberately. Apps in this category are notorious for hanging exactly when a slot appears, because everyone opens them at once. WhatsApp is already on your phone, already trusted with notifications, and does not need to be running.

What payment methods do you take?

Indian customers: UPI, cards and net banking. US customers: cards. Everything is handled by the payment provider — we never see or store your card details.

Is my data safe?

We collect the minimum needed to send you alerts: a phone number or email, your filters, and your subscription state. We do not sell it and we do not share it. See the privacy policy, or email support@visaslotsplus.com and we will delete everything we hold about you.
